Beef Meatballs(Adapted from CL)
1 1/2 pounds ground sirlion
1 ounce shredded fresh Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs
1/3 cup chopped fresh parsley
1/4 cup tomato sauce
1 teaspoon dry mustard
3/4 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 garlic cloves, minced
Preheat oven to 400
In a large bowl, add all ingredients and mix well with your hands to combine.
Shape mixture into 30 meatballs. Place on a broiler pan coated with cooking spray. Bake for 15 minutes or until done.
We made this tonight and it's very good! One thing that isn't mentioned in the recipe that may or may not be obvious to others is that the cheese and sauce do not do in the meatballs themselves, but on top later.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't able to find any Parmesan cheese, so I used provolone instead and it turned out great. I also got some fresh baked hoagie rolls from the grocery store and toasted them with the cheese on it - awesome.
Hi c.barr - Glad you liked the recipe!
ReplyDeleteYes, the sauce and provolone are not included with the recipe as this is just a base recipe for meatballs and you can choose to do whatever you like with them!
Here is the link to the page where we talked about this recipe if anyone was interested.
