Chile-Rubbed Steak Tacos (Adapted from CL)
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon chili powder
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
16 ounces trimmed flank steak
6 6" white corn tortillas
toppings of your choice
Prepare grill or an appliance like The Griddler
In a small bowl, stir together chili powder, garlic powder, salt, peppers and cinnamon. Rub mixture evenly over both sides of steak - set aside and let stand for 10 to 15 minutes.
Cook steak until desired degree of doneness, about 8 minutes per side if using a grill - 5 to 8 minutes on the Griddler. Transfer steak to a cutting board and let rest for 5 minutes. Slice steak diagonally across grain into thin pieces.
Heat tortillas according to package directions. Evenly divide the steak between the tortillas and add the toppings of your choice to serve.
Makes 3 servings.
