Chocolate Cherry Blossoms (Adapted from Land O Lakes)
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, finely chopped
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, divided
3 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 cup dried cherries, chopped
1/3 cup granulated or confectioners' sugar

In a medium microwave-safe bowl, add chopped chocolate and microwave, stirring often, until melted - about 1 to 2 minutes. Add butter and stir until melted - set aside to cool for 10 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, add chocolate mixture, 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar, 3/4 cup all-purpose flour and eggs. Mix until well combined. Add remaining 3/4 cup flour, baking powder and cherries - mix just until combined. Cover and let chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 300
In a shallow dish, add granulated or confectioners' sugar. Shape the dough into 1" balls - roll each in the sugar of your choice. Place the coated balls on parchment lined baking sheets. Bake until the top is set and cracked, about 8 to 12 minutes.
As soon as the cookies come out, gently press 1 cherry chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie. Carefully move the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
Makes about 60 cookies.
