Tie-Dyed Macaroon Bars

Tie-Dyed Macaroon Bars (Adapted from Hershey's)

7 1/2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
7 large egg whites
2 large eggs, slightly beaten
1 3/4 teaspoon almond extract
2 1/4 cups kissables

Preheat oven to 350

In a large bowl, toss together coconut, sugar, flour and salt. Mix in egg whites, eggs and almond extract until thoroughly combined. Fold in the kissables. Scoop mixture into a 9 x 13" baking dish lightly coated with nonstick spray.

Bake until lightly browned - about 35 to 40 minutes. Remove and place on a wire rack to cool completely. Cover with foil and let rest overnight before cutting into bars.

Makes about 35 servings.
