Maple-Chile Popcorn

Maple-Chile Popcorn (Adapted from CL)

10 cups popped popcorn
1/2 cup real maple syrup
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper

Preheat oven to 300

Lightly coat a large heat-safe bowl with nonstick spray and add popcorn.

In a small saucepan, add syrup, butter, salt and pepper and place over medium heat. While the mixture heats, stir the ingredients just until combined. When it comes to a boil, cook, without stirring, for 2 minutes. Carefully pour syrup mixture over popcorn in a slow stream, stirring to coat.

Scoop mixture to a baking sheet lightly coated with nonstick spray - spread to an even layer. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove and let cool completely in pan before serving.
