  2. excellent recipe. I added mandarin oranges to it, a little too early though they separated and pretty much just thickened the sauce.

  4. I really want to try this recipe out but I can't for the life of me find the sambal oelek. Is there anything I can use as a substitute for it?

  5. Melanie - Sambal is really just a chile paste with a bit of vinegar and salt. Try using a touch of hot pepper sauce, harissa or thelike.
