As for the website, we didn't produce as many new-to-us recipes as we did in years past. I'll blame that on the good chunk of time we spent traveling multiple weeks between Minneapolis and Charlotte, plus all that entails setting up a house. However, we did cross a milestone - after adding up the totals, we now have tried, talked about and posted over 2000 recipes to the site!
Jeff and I thought we would sift through what we made this year and try to narrow down 10 favorites from both the savory and sweet departments, which you'll see below. I asked this question last year and thought I'd ask again - did you get a chance to try any recipes from the site this year that really tickled your fancy? What were your favorites?

Joe, your pictures are perfection. I don't know what to try first. They all look wonderful. Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite on this list is the chicken with the maple-mustard sauce. My whole family loves it. Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteWow those really look great! Yes this year flew by so fast it is shocking!
ReplyDeleteThey all look wonderful. Wishing you and Jeff a very Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Joe, Jeff and Gus.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of these great recipes..I am still lovin' the Graham Cracker Chewy Bars from August..Simple, but oh so good.
I tried a few. I have to say that the Devil's Food Cake was awesome. And we really enjoyed the Chipotle Chicken and the Panko Encrusted Chicken.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year and thank you for sharing all these wonderful recipes. I'm putting that chicken on this weeks menu.

Hi Joe,
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your BLOG for four years now and love it.
I'm very happy that Jeff is recovering well. I still wish he worked in my office but I'm retired now so it will never happen. Siiiiiiiiiiigh
I made the roast garlic rosemary rolls after Thanksgiving and they were a major hit with us and some friends we shared them with.
I made them again for Christmas dinner and everyone loved them.
I'm looking forward to another year of great food.

I had t
Happy New Year, Joe! Your pictures are as gorgeous as ever. I missed that panko coated chicken and will have to try it.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I think I'll have to add a number of these dishes to my to-do list.
ReplyDeleteI did make the Marshmallow Crunch Brownies and they were a huge hit. Thanks again - here's to a happy and healthy 2011.
Regardless of favorites.......it can be summed up by saying that you do superb work......cooking, photographing, inspiring. Moving to a retirement home means that I'm no longer cooking, but I'll never get tired of reading about food. Thanks and happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a fabulous 2010 blog year...as always, your recipes and photos were lovely :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, and thank you for all that you do!
Courtney
Happy new year to one of my "new" fave blogs since I only discovered you recently ! I'm recovering from jet lag and now I'm STARVING!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have made numerous batches of your kahlua-spike pecans in recent weeks. Every time I make them, I get requests for the recipe, and I just keep making more batches to give away because of all the rave reviews. My mom stated that this is what she is going to give away for Christmas gifts next year - in a mason jar with the recipe attached.
ReplyDelete:)
just found recipes for the next few days of my week. YUM!
ReplyDeleteCount me in for the panko chicken, and I have to give a shout out to the Vintage Butterscotch Bars. Huge fan of those! And of your blog! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI made the gingerbread popcorn at Thanksgiving. Liked it so much that I gave a large batch to my nephew for Xmas.
ReplyDeleteI made the pumpkin whoopie pies and loved them!
ReplyDeleteMy family went crazy for the Kahlua-spiked pecans!
ReplyDeleteAnd as always, the pics look so appetizing, makes me want to cook/bake it all.
So many good recipes! I really enjoyed the almond roca (first time making it!) and the margherita pizza. I always like your pizza recipes, though!
ReplyDeleteHmm.. another favorite, a lemon cookie, the lemon cooler? I should make those again. Oh, and giant ginger cookies, too. Yum.
I made the panko-crusted chicken and it was delicious. But I have to say, the pork banh-mi was superb. And I live in your old stomping grounds of the Twin Cities and frequent our excellent selection of Vietnamese restaurants around here and can say that this sandwich stands up to any of them on University Ave.
ReplyDeleteI made the Pumpkin Cheesecake Squares to rave review! Two more off the top of my head from your blog are the Butterfinger eyeballs for Halloween and the Peppermint Cheesecake Bars. Both garnered plenty of "ooohhhhs and aaahhh's" from our party goers with plenty of recipe requests.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are amazing! 2000 posts, I am ultimately impressed. Keep 'em coming, Joe!
Joe,
ReplyDeleteI hope you and Jeff are well. I miss being in Jeff's office and having the opportunity to try all of the wonderful treats! I have yet to be able to find the cinnamon chips for that fudge, and that makes me sad, because I do think that is my all time favorite treat. Although when Jeff brought the frosted maple chocolate chip zucchini bars (which were awesome as well) I loved the fact that my brother ate two before knowing there was zucchini in them. It was hilarious because he is a professed hater of zucchini and Jeff didn't disclose the fact that there was any zucchini in the dessert. Hope you are both well. I love all of your recipes!

Hi Amy!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see you still drop by! If you'd really like to make the fudge, they sell the chips on Amazon... hee hee! We had trouble this year finding them and almost went that route, but we ended up getting them locally.
Hope all is well!
