Weekly recap...

Looking over this past week we made 11 new recipes. The high points for me were the Chocolate Hawaiian Biscotti and Tomato Goat Cheese Strata. Even though we keep plugging away at the new recipe pile, I swear it just keeps getting bigger! At least there's a big selection each week to choose from. The recipe section on the left hand side has been updated with the past week's recipes.

I did finally accomplish something that didn't have anything to do with the kitchen. I've been working on a puzzle whenever I had spare time (which there seems to be little of these days) and finally finished it the other day. I like how it came out, but it was way more involved than I thought it would be when we bought it in Disney World.

Netflix sent us the DVD of Wedding Date starring Debra Messing for tonight's movie. I've read some interesting reviews on this one, but the previews did look somewhat funny. I have the menu planned for this upcoming week and there seems to be a good variety of recipes. Check back with us and see how it works out!

  4. Hi Joe - I had to come over and check out your blog, and I'm sooo impressed! I'm also envious that you plan your meals for the week ahead of time because I always try to do that and I can never keep it going...any tips? I also see that you've already got a michelle to visit you every day, so perhaps, in honor of your newly completed puzzle, I'll sign off by my childhood nickname on your blog - micki! (not spelled the same, but of course I was called 'mickey mouse' all through school!) great blog, and the recipes look yummy!

  7. Micki - Thanks for checkin us out! I take some time every Saturday night to pour over my to-try piles of new recipes or in cookbooks for the next week. It is just something that I have become diligent about because I find that if I don't, I just end up in a rotation of the same stuff. It took awhile, but now it is just a normal thing I do!

Culinarily - Thanks! The movie was pretty good!

Alysha - Thanks! I'm *very* behind in meme's and it is very hectic around here so I don't know when I will be able to get to it... I will try!

  8. Joe - That is a hard puzzle! It took my partner and I about 2 weeks to finish it. We ended up having to cheat by using the enclosed poster.

  9. I'm a jigsaw puzzle freak myself. Just before the holidays I was out buying my 6 year old niece a puzzle and found one of the Mona Lisa (1000 pieces) for myself. It's insane and mostly all dark brown so I can only do it in the daylight. Hopefully I'll finish it before spring.

Ruth - Yeah, this one was 1000 pieces and I so know what you mean about the dark brown!
