Garlic and Cheddar Dog Biscuits

Garlic and Cheddar Dog Biscuits

3 cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, or whatever you have on hand
1 large egg, beaten
1 cup skim milk

Preheat oven to 400

Combine flour and garlic powder in a large mixing bowl. Make a well in the center and add remaining ingredients graduallly, stirring until well blended.

Knead dough on a floured surface 3-4 minutes.

Roll dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut into your favorite shapes. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 15-18 minutes until golden brown.

Cool on wire rack and let the doggies enjoy!

  1. Hi Joe -- Celebrated my dog's 3rd birthday last week and she and her two pals LOVED these. And there's a bunch in the freezer to bag up for friends who have dogs at my annual cookie swap in two weeks. Thanks for the inspiration!! Alanna PS They won't be on A Veggie Venture but I did post here http://herdonlongview.blogspot.com/2005/12/ladys-third-birthday.html, a spot I keep to stay in touch with a hard-of-hearing father.
