Sour Cream and Cheddar Drop Biscuits

Sour Cream and Cheddar Drop Biscuits(Adapted from CL)

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3 tablespoons chilled butter, cut into small pieces
3/4 cup shredded sharp white cheddar cheese
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup sour cream
Cooking spray

Preheat oven to 450.

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a large bowl, stirring with a whisk. Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add cheese; toss well. Add buttermilk and sour cream; stir just until moist.

Drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls onto a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Bake at 450 for 15 minutes or until edges are brown. Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack.

  1. I can't believe how quick and easy these were! This was my first biscuit attempt and I was amazed how light they were. We loved the tang of the sour cream. Thanks so much for the recipe and inspiration.
