White Cheddar and Black Pepper Biscuits

White Cheddar and Black Pepper Biscuits(Adapted from CL)

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 ounces shredded sharp white cheddar
3 tablespoons cold butter, cut into small pieces
1 cup buttermilk

Preheat oven to 400

Set flours, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a food processor. Pulse until well combined. Add cheese and butter - pulse just until the butter resembles coarse meal.

In a large bowl, add the flour mixture and stir in buttermilk just until moist.

Drop dough into 12 mounds on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Bake 15 minutes or until golden.
